ROOMING-IN PRACTICES AND SATISFACTION WITH CARE ACCORDING TO DISCHARGE ON EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the practices that favor breastfeeding performed in Rooming-In area and satisfaction with care received according discharge on exclusive breastfeeding. Method: a quantitative study conducted between July 2020 September 2021 maternity teaching hospital from southern Brazil; total of 756 puerperal women participated by means an online questionnaire 20 days after discharge. The data were analyzed descriptive way absolute relative frequencies, chi-square test was applied verify any statistical difference “discharge breastfeeding” outcome. Results: prevalence 85.0% presented association outcome guidelines regarding readiness signs (69.0% versus 57.5%), correct position latch (94.1% 86.7%), free demand (79.2% 69.0%), until sixth month life complemented two years age (77.9% 67.3%); practice not offering other milk during hospitalization (88.5% 17.1%).
